What was the story about the Ian Palmer Brabham NSX from the early 2000s? Where did it come from and where is it now? What was a Brabham NSX anyway? Was it an after-market special? i don't know of many supercharged Hondas!

I think that JD and Richo will be able to shed some light on this for you.

Sorry mate I got more questions then answers about this car. Don't even know if there was a Brabham NSX road car for starters. I know the race car was supercharged and it had shocking reliability problems, I'm sure some other members on here would know more. For some reason I'm thinking the car ended up with a V8 of some kind but maybe my minds playing tricks on me.

Funnily enough I remember reading on the Procar forums (yeah those forums that was a lifetime ago) that Palmer was hoping to bring down a JGTC GT500 Skyline to replace the NSX. I don't know what happened to that plan. ??

It was the ex Wayne Gardner Dogbone NSX from the early 12hrs. Quite possibly the most unreliable racecar ever to make the grid, when it did make the grid. Early configuration of it had a Judd V8 before that was replaced. I have at least one article on it which I will post tonight when I get home which gives some of the detail.

To my understanding Palmer still owns it.

I was on the procar forum back in the day, some great threads and interesting posts were had. Phil (FFS conscience) posts were always a good read.

That's the article I saw also with a Google search after I saw this topic. Wish the procar forums were still up, that was a wealth of knowledge and entertainment lol.

Wow thanks for information. I wondered if it could have been a homologation special like the Monaros of the day. Did Ian Agnew actually race a second one at all in 2001?

Thats awesome jdyort thanks for sharing B)

What mag was that from-Zoom or High Performance Imports?

So the Nations Cup car morphed from that. Its a bit weird seeing it in yellow rather then white. Shame it was so unreliable, I bet it would've handled really well.

I wonder if Ian reached out to RealTime Racing in the States who ran one of these in supercharged form in Speed GT which was the forunner to todays Pirelli World Challenge?

I found some shots of the car I took at Wakefield Park in around 2004, here's one of them:
