Dan Ricciardo with his first ever F1 pole and fingers crossed that he can get up at Monaco tonight.

Yep, wet in Monaco. It'll either be a great race, or awful and full of red flags

We all know that tyres play a huge part in a race, but that put a different spin on it.
How a multi million dollar race team can make such an amateurish mistake is mind boggling and Ricciardo gets the wrong end of it for the 2nd consecutive race.
Verstappen continues to be rocks and diamonds and its one thing thing to be super quick, but you've got to be in control and Kyvat continues his demolition derby efforts.

Glad I missed this. Sounds like Red Bull screwed another Aussie again. I doubt it was deliberate but I'd expect so much better from them.

Richo, it was a good race to watch - more interesting than the average GP - but so disappointing that Red Bull donated the win to Hamilton. Don't know why Rosberg was slow from the get-go, just being conservative to protect his champ lead, whether he had issues, or whether he doesn't like the wet? The last corner move by Hulkenberg to take 6th off Rosberg pointed to him not liking the wet from my perspective.

Rosberg was having brake issues Mikey. Well that was the official line given anyway

Verstappen reminds me of Stoner when he began MotoGP, fast but prone to binning it. But you can teach control, you cant teach fast, Verstappen will be a gun in 2 seasons.

Rosberg doesnt show much confidence in the wet as I remember from watching him in the rain driving the Williams when he was Webbers team mate. Reminds me of another German driver who had similar issues in the rain but their name escapes me.

And the victim of bad luck, bad tactics and a poor pitstop. Could Dan be heading to the Prancing Horse next year?

As usual in F1 its about jumping to the right team at exactly the right time. Are Ferrari going to be competitive in 2017? Or will Red Bull F1 continue their promising rise of speed from last year?

Would you rather Vettel or Verstappen as a team mate ?
Verstappen has undoubted potential, but is throwing the car into the wall often. Watching him at Monaco, he was the quickest guy on the track during certain stints and then they went onboard with him and you could see that he was having near loses every lap and sure enough, he binned it.
As for Ricciardo, it would have to be extremely difficult to knock back a drive for Ferrari.

Agreed, to answer my own question, theres probably never a bad time to drive for Ferrari. Dan has had some dealings with Ferrari previously, having been aboard the Toro Rosso with Ferrari engines in 2012-13, might open a few doors for him perhaps?

Whilst an Aussie, the Ferrari fans would love the name "Ricciardo" on the car.
