I'm very interested to see what the Excel series will be like...

Statistically most "rock spiders" have spent some time in their lives as a church youth group leader.
Think about that.

Good stuff. Glad to see more WRXs in the series and a nice example of a team moving up through the classes (which is half the appeal of the six hour to me). All the different classes have their own battles so you've got numerous battles within one race.

Up to 56 entries with some more new cars which is good to see:

www.speedcafe.com/2017/10/12/2018-bathur...-hour-field-56-cars/

No sign of of our own Snowman on the list yet. Hope to see him and Karl Reindler back after after an awesome run this year.

Sadly work commitments at my end aren't going to allow us to get there next year. Fingers crossed I'll have a new - and faster car for 2019. In fact everything going to plan I'll have it for the newly announced Phillip Island 6hr later next year as a test run.

By then the politics for the car eligibility will be sorted out and I can commit to building the car I want which is not currently eligible for 6hr, but I'm told there is going to be a CAMS mandated eligibility list published for 2018 which all state and national events will have to abide to (currently there are different rules between state and national).

And I suppose you're going to make us wait with baited breath to find out what you intend on running? :P

Well it’s on the APC national eligibility list already, but it’s not yet on the 6hr list.

And it’s not a Porsche. So you can probably work it out if you really want to know.

But speaking of new cars - the 2016 6hr winners were at Bathurst challenge in their new F80 M3. That thing looks equally as fast as the Sherrin M4 so I don’t see next year being a 1 horse race.

Does anyone have any pics of Beric Lynton's new M3 at Challenge Bathurst?

I would have thought after the barbecue that happened right in front of us last year that car was destroyed.

Great to see it back.

No Caymans or has there been a rule change since last year?

I don't think there's been a rule change, it might just be that no one has built one yet. (Willing to be corrected if need be)

Booked my hotel the other day, so really looking forward to it. An increase in quality without a decrease in quantity on the entry is always a good thing.

I'll be there for the full weekend, only details I'm yet to sort out are where I'm staying (either camping in the paddock, or Cozzy's place), and which one of my cars would be best suited to the task :)

All entry lists: bathurst6hour.com.au/event-info/entry-list

A couple of Lambo's, older Audi's and Porsches plus MPC have a few TBA's on the ProdSport list so we might see some new R8 GT3's and maybe a GT4 make an appearance...

55 Excel's should make for some great entertainment too...;)

Less than 4 weeks to go.

Good to see Chaz back. Hopefully there's a few more big name drivers announced soon. (Slade back with CXC maybe?) No disrespect intended to all of the regular competitors but it would be great if the likes of van Gisbergen, Lowndes & Waters gave it a crack.

Even if say Mark Eddy could get an Audi GT gun in the TT, (a bloke called Fassler would only have to extend his stay a week) that could really help the event take another step.

Looking forward to it regardless.

MARC cars have moved up a class in the updated entry list.

Now in class A.

Their American friends from the 12 hour are joining them again.
