Looks like COTA could be affected by weather. Texas has been getting a lot of rain/flooding due to a hurricane & it looks like the rain might continue throughout the next week.

Sounds pretty ugly over there.

Yeah, it looks like some of the towns have been hit pretty hard. Salvation Army and the Red Cross are giving people aid, but it's got to be tough down there right now.

As much as I love Motorsport there are bigger things at stake here. Hope everyone is ok over there.

The series and many of the teams have been using the event as a platform to help raise mony for the relief efforts, which is pretty cool.

On the racing side, here's a recap video of yesterday's make up race: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0LwxhcpuI0
Not usually a huge fan of COTA as a track, but it looks really cool at sundown.

That looks awesome! Im more excited by PC2 then the first game. I don't have a wheel but from Ive seen so far PC2 has far better controller support then the first game.

James Davison is listed in the #69 Mercedes with Pablo Perez Companc for Sonoma this weekend. On a Sprint weekend, that probably means he'll be driving one of the races. http://files.world-challenge.com/events/2017-09-sono/2017-PWC-SONO-EntryList.pdf

Per series bulletin, it seems Davison was only in the car for the practice sessions. http://files.world-challenge.com/bulletins/2017-PWC-PARTICIPANT-BLTN-SONO-03.pdf

Great racing in the first Sonoma GT race today. Alvaro Parente drove an absolutely spectacular race from 7th to 2nd, but with Pat Long finishing 3rd, Long clinches the Overall GT championship. Awesome stuff from both of them this year.

Congrats to Pat Long. Im glad he's still in the championship with Wright after the EFFORT programme was suddenly shut down.

I do like the PWC - sadly I only seem to be able to read about it.

For us Aussies - a 3am wake-up to watch a live streamed race is difficult - and the lack of replays (I understand is to protect the TV rights holder) also makes it hard.

But for what it is - a hard fought and often brutal championship - I do enjoy it.

Congrats to Pat Long on the championship!

Cadillac has left the building which is a bit of a shock as there was nothing signalling a departure from the series. It seems with the Proto class in IMSA hotting up they've decided to put all their resources behind that.

www.racer.com/pwc/item/144567-cadillac-closes-pwc-team

PWC without Cadillac is gonna be weird next year. DSC were discussing the chances of the Callaway Corvette being allowed to compete now that Cadillac is gone but I still think that GM politics will prevent this.

Yeah, it's a massive shame. Cadillac Racing has brought a lot to the series over the years, and the paddock seems to have nothing but respect for them.

I'm going to miss seeing them at the track. The noise they made coming into Canada Corner at Road America was absolutely monstrous. Johnny O is always one of the most personable drivers in the autograph line and the team always seemed to be talking to fans by their tent.

Hopefully Johnny, Michael and the crew will all be able to find work in PWC next year. They're leaving a big hole.

Its a bit harder for Michael as hes closer to the start of his career then Johnny. Hopefully someone picks up Cooper, hes too talented to stay on the sidelines. Dunno what Johnny O will do next eh?

Johnny just turned 55 as well, so he's basically the world's fastest Silver driver. A smart GTE-Am team could capitalize on that for Le Mans or something.

Either way, I doubt either one will be without a ride for too long.

In related news, the Callaway Corvette has been cleared for PWC competition: http://www.dailysportscar.com/2017/09/29/the-corvette-c7-gt3-can-now-be-sold-raced-in-the-usa.html
There was talk of a team that wanted to race one in PWC a year or two back, hopefully the interest is still there.
