Looks like IPRA will not be there next year after many years as a support category.
Disappointing for me personally as I loved the variety.
So who are they going to have ?

Think about that.

With all this talk of V8's having a non-championship "big bash" style event, perhaps they could run 3x 10 lap sprint races around the mountain during the 12 hour weekend? Non championship, open to anyone with a COTF chassis, and there would have to be a big incentive to get teams to show up, perhaps a cash prize for the podium finishers?

I'd love to see it for the on-track spectacle, but I'm hoping it never happens because of the influx of the stereotypical bogan V8 fans that plague the 1000 every October

Combined sedans will be back.

So with no IPRA, maybe they'll get Jordan Cox to do some demo laps ;)

Would a sprint round of the AMC (is it even called that still?) work ahead of the 6 hr in easter?

Could provide a chance to bed new cars in, test components setups etc.

Hopefully its something far more special, perhaps a round of an overseas championship. That would make the weekend incredible.

I cant believe they got rid of IPRA, thats a crying shame that such a entertaining support category would be dropped like that.

I dont want to see Supercars at the B12, theres already enough of them in combined sedans-I got no problem with that as its a nice varied field just like IPRA....... B12 for me is everything but Supercars, if they bring out a support race with just soley them in it then it'll be a nice break to have a feed and a pitstop.

Wasn't there talk about a round of the Lamborghini Trofeo Series being in Australia a few years back?

Wouldn't that be a sight, a field of screaming Huracan ST's around the mountain

Their first lap 4 wide carnage at the 6 hour probably won't help their cause.

Reading elsewhere, Improved Production has been replaced with Group S which are Historic Sports Cars. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

Start the weekend with a few entries. By the end of 3 days, less than half will still be running. Usually how historical at the mountain go :(

Speaking of historic sportscars, how awesome would it be if the Group C historic series made its way out here?

Won't be so much of an issue if there are good numbers to begin with.

Would the Veskanda have raced at Bathurst in the past?

It is Rob Sherrards. Still waiting on him to bring it to SMP.

I would rather IPRA (less Hislop) than Group S even though I am a fan of the category and it is more in keeping with the Sports Car theme.
